In this chapter of Daniel, it starts from the beginning, when the Lord permitted King Nebuchadnezzar to come into Jerusalem and besiege it.

This led to taking with him, people from Jerusalem and choosing from the royal family of Judah, young men who would be taught the ways of Babylon for 3 years in order to serve the king and this selection of men included Daniel and his 3 friends who were also a part of the family of Judah; Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (their original names which got changed).

This was also the chapter that starts to show us the determination of Daniel to not be defiled in the process of assimilation into Babylon by asking to only be fed vegetables and water and the Lord allowed Daniel to find favour in the eyes of the chief of staff that even though the chief was concerned for his life if the men came out looking less healthy than the others, he still served them what they requested.

Prayer: I pray that the Lord guides us through wherever we may find ourselves and even in the face of uncertainty like Daniel and his friends had in a foreign land that God will allow us to find favour in His eyes and the eyes of man in Jesus’ name Amen

What I got from this Chapter

God is there with you. I’m saying this because in the heart of other people that probably didn’t believe and trust in God who were also captured and taken into Babylon may feel abandoned by God and may be asking why He would let them be captured if He loved them, but here we see that God is indeed with you, as He was with Daniel and his friends because for example even after being fed vegetables and water for some time they were looking healthier and fatter than their counterparts that ate all that was available to them. That was an absolute miracle!

So, Are there any areas in your life where you feel the Lord isn’t there with you? I hope this chapter and subsequently this book of Daniel will show you that God is present in all areas of our lives be it the ones we think are great and the ones we think are awful. I hope this has given you some faith in whatever situation you are in.

If you want to hear more about Daniel 1 and other chapters of the Bible being taught, I recommend Calvary Chapel Ontario, he teaches the Word very well and detailed.

CLOSING REMARKS:

Hey! I’m not sure if you are Christian or not and you just stumbled on this post, but if you’re not, and you feel led to give your life to Christ, you can pray the following and believe in your heart that the Lord has heard and answered you and you’ll be part of the Christian family :) (it’s pretty cool over here honestly 😎)

THE SINNER’S PRAYER

Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and I need a Savior. I want to turn away from my sinful life to the life You have planned for me. Please forgive me my sins. Cleanse me of my past, make me new. I know Your Son, Jesus Christ died for me. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. At this very moment, I accept, confess, and proclaim Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior…to live in my heart from this day forward. Thank you Jesus for Your grace that has saved me from my sins and has given me eternal life. Please send Your Holy Spirit to guide me, and to help me do Your will for the rest of my life, in Jesus’ name Amen.

❤️Rejoice, for Heaven has gotten another one (Luke 15:7)❤️
